In October, the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU) has been appointed by the Federal Cabinet for its next term until 31.10.2024. Prof. Dr. Anna-Katharina Hornidge, Director oft he German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) and Professor for Global Sustainable Development at the University of Bonn, has been appointed for the first time as one of the nine members of the Council.
The WBGU compiles scientific analyses, develops concepts, and proposes solutions for global sustainability. Ist thinking is systemic, its work independent and interdisciplinary. The WBGU seeks to uncover ways of achieving the Great Transformation through dialogue with policy-makers, society and international organizations.
